Augmented Reality Digital Poster

The Past Bound Together is a digital illustration based on my familys background. The Norwegian symbology represents the ethnic background of my fathers side while the Irish symbol follows my mothers side. Alongside my The Door to Moria poster, This was also submitted to UMD's Annual Student Exhibition resulting in receiving a merit award from the jurors.

After creating the base design in Illustrator, I moved to AfterEffects to manipulate all of the layers of the piece. Using Artivive, I combined the Illustrator and AfterEffects files to make an augmented reality poster that is able to be scan from anywhere with the app.

This piece is another important stepping stone in my design career. Creating something for my family and visualizing our history through this imagery was a great experience. While creating a symbol for my mother, my father, and I, implementing the motion into the illustration feels like it is telling you a story. Earning my merit award for this piece was all for and because of my family.
